Weather will change again in the state today, possibility of rain and thunderstorm in many areas

The weather in Chhattisgarh has remained pleasant due to rain for several days. People have got relief from the scorching heat. However, they are also facing trouble due to humidity. The southwest monsoon is likely to become active in the next 1 to 2 days, due to which the rain activity may increase. The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in many areas of the state on Monday i.e. 19 May.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at one or two places. The highest maximum temperature in the state has been recorded at 38.6 degrees Celsius in Durg. At the same time, the lowest minimum temperature has been recorded at 20 degrees Celsius in Pendra Road.

According to meteorologist HP Chandra, the south-east monsoon is likely to become active in the next one or two days in the South Arabian Sea, Maldives and Comorin region, South Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Islands, Andaman Sea and some parts of central Bay of Bengal.

At present, the western disturbance is located in the middle troposphere at 61 degrees east and 30 degrees north latitude. Also, a trough is spread from central Punjab to north Bangladesh at a height of about 0.9 km. At the same time, another north-south trough is spread from western Vidarbha to north interior Karnataka at a height of about 1.5 km. Due to these weather conditions, rain and strong wind activities are continuing in the state.

There is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers at some places in the state on May 19. Apart from this, thunderstorms and lightning may also occur in some areas. However, there is no possibility of any major change in the maximum temperature at present. There is a possibility of increase in rainfall activities in the state from May 20.

The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky and thundershowers in Raipur today. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25 degrees Celsius.
