Wife Kills Husband With 15-Year-Younger Boyfriend After Instagram Affair; Lover Flees to Chennai With Axe

In a shocking incident from Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar district, a married woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her 15-year-younger boyfriend — a man she met on Instagram.

The accused lover attacked the husband twice on the head with an axe before fleeing the state.

According to police, the woman, identified as Chandrika Giri (40), had been in an online relationship with Tunna Kumar Sharma (25) from Bihar for nearly four years. Tunna worked in Chennai and earned around ₹70,000 a month. Their relationship, which started on social media, soon turned romantic and secret meetings followed.

Chandrika, a mother of three, introduced Tunna to her children as an “uncle,” but behind the scenes, the two had begun dreaming of a life together. When Chandrika’s husband Amrit Giri (45) started suspecting her affair, frequent fights broke out between the couple.

Murder Planned at Raipur Hotel

Police investigations revealed that Chandrika and Tunna met at a hotel in Raipur days before the murder, where they allegedly plotted Amrit’s killing. Chandrika detailed every step — how and when Tunna should enter the house, where to hide, and how to escape afterward.

The duo chose October 24 for the crime, when a local cultural event ensured most villagers were away from their homes.

Axe Attack While Husband Slept

Around midnight, as Amrit fell asleep on the sofa after dinner, Tunna sneaked into the house through the roof and struck him twice on the head with an axe. Amrit died on the spot.

Tunna then hid the weapon in a bag, took a lift from a truck to Raipur at around 3 a.m., and fled to Chennai.

Wife Pretended to Be Shocked

The next morning, Chandrika raised an alarm, telling neighbors that her husband had been murdered by “someone unknown.” Police arrived to find Amrit’s body soaked in blood, his head smashed with a heavy object.

During questioning, Chandrika gave vague answers, raising suspicion. Investigators then checked her call records, uncovering frequent communication with Tunna. The trail led them to Chennai, where a police team arrested Tunna from his workplace.

Accused Confessed; Axe Recovered

During interrogation, Tunna confessed to the crime and revealed the murder weapon’s location — near Raipur railway station, where he had discarded it. Chandrika was later taken into custody, and she too confessed to plotting the murder.

Interestingly, Tunna told police that he had changed his mind moments before the killing and wanted to back out, but attacked in panic when Amrit suddenly woke up and saw him. Fearing arrest, he escaped to Chennai instead of surrendering.

Both accused are now in custody, and police are preparing to file charges under relevant sections of the IPC for murder and criminal conspiracy.
