In a development that has caught both the political and public eye in Madhya Pradesh, former BJP minister Deepak Joshi, son of late Chief Minister Kailash Joshi, has tied the knot with Pallavi Raj Saxena, a Congress leader and the party’s former state secretary.

Photos circulating widely on social media show 63-year-old Deepak Joshi applying sindoor to the forehead of Pallavi in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. Although the images have not been independently verified, several political figures, including Congress leader Vrajendra Shukla, confirmed the wedding via social media posts and extended wishes to the couple.

According to sources, the marriage took place at an Arya Samaj temple in Bhopal on December 4. Pallavi initially shared pictures of the ceremony before later deleting them.

A Cross-Party Marriage Creates Political Buzz

The union has attracted attention not just for its personal aspect but also due to its political undertones. Deepak Joshi’s wedding to a Congress leader comes after his recent political shifts between the BJP and Congress, reflecting a complex career spanning decades.

For much of his political life, Joshi represented the BJP, serving as the Minister of School Education after winning the Hatpipliya Assembly seat in 2013. However, after losing in 2018 and expressing growing dissatisfaction with the BJP, he joined the Congress party in 2023, before returning to the BJP again a year later.

This marriage, therefore, is being viewed by political observers as more than just a personal event — it symbolizes the intertwined nature of Madhya Pradesh’s political alliances and rivalries.

Past Relationships and Family Life

Deepak Joshi’s personal life has often been in the news. Reports suggest he was previously involved with two women — Namrata Joshi and Shikha Joshi (Mitra) — both of whom claimed to be married to him, with related cases reaching the courts.

His first wife, Vijaya Joshi, passed away during the second wave of COVID-19 in 2021, a personal loss that deeply impacted him and led to a brief political hiatus.

Political Legacy and Shifting Journey

Deepak Joshi carries forward a formidable political legacy — being the son of Kailash Joshi, one of Madhya Pradesh’s most respected leaders and former Chief Minister (1977–78).

Known for his anti-corruption stance, Deepak Joshi made headlines in 2022 after writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging irregularities in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana projects. His outspoken approach often placed him at odds with senior BJP leaders.

In 2023, he joined the Congress in the presence of Kamal Nath but lost the Khategaon seat to BJP’s Ashish Sharma. He later rejoined the BJP, signaling yet another twist in his political chapter.

Social Media Reaction

Social media platforms were abuzz as images of the wedding spread rapidly. Netizens and political workers from both parties shared mixed reactions, with some congratulating the couple and others pointing out the irony of a BJP veteran marrying a Congress leader.

Despite the buzzing political backdrop, insiders close to the former minister describe the wedding as a “personal choice” following years of emotional turmoil and loss.

Deepak Joshi’s marriage to Pallavi Raj Saxena blends personal joy with political curiosity, adding another chapter to Madhya Pradesh’s ever-evolving political narrative. As social media continues to discuss the event, this high-profile union underlines how personal lives often intersect with political landscapes in India.
