Gwalior Gang War Erupts: Old Rivalry Leads to Open Firing, One Dead, Another Critically Injured
Gwalior, MP
Late Monday night, panic gripped the Birla Nagar Line No. 2 area in the Hazira locality of Gwalior when assailants opened fire on two youths due to an ongoing personal rivalry. Bhola Sikarwar died on the spot, while his companion Kallu alias Pawan Shrivastava sustained serious injuries. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.
Following the incident, ASP Krishan Lalchandani, CSP Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, and TI Shivmangal Singh Sengar reached the spot with a heavy police force. The area was cordoned off and the injured were rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared Bhola dead.
Social Media Post and Rivalry Sparked the Attack
Initial investigations revealed that Bhola’s brother, Deenu Sikarwar, had posted a threatening status on social media a few hours earlier, warning Bunty alias Rinku Bhadauriya. In retaliation, Bunty, along with his associates, arrived on an Activa scooter and opened fire on Bhola and Kallu.
Police Intensify Hunt for Accused
Based on a complaint by Hemu Sikarwar, police registered a murder case against nine named suspects. One of them, Rahul Solanki, has been arrested. A country-made pistol and the scooter used in the crime were recovered from him. A reward of ₹10,000 has been announced on the prime accused Bunty. Police teams are conducting raids in Bhind, Mohana, and Indore to track him down.
Turf War over Illegal Liquor Trade Behind the Feud
Preliminary findings suggest that both Bhola and Bunty were involved in the illegal liquor business and had been clashing over territorial control. In a previous incident, Bhola’s associates had fired at Bunty, injuring him. The current attack is believed to be a revenge act.
Tensions Rise, Security Tightened
In the wake of the incident, tension prevails in the area. Police have deployed additional forces around the hospital, the crime scene, and the residences of both parties to prevent any further violence.
