Wedding Rush Blocks State Highway
With a high number of weddings scheduled on Saturday, all marriage lawns along the route were fully booked. Guests and Baraat processions parked vehicles on both sides of the busy highway, creating a complete road blockade and long queues of stranded commuters. Several videos of the jam went viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism.
BJP District Vice President Manish Tiwari shared a video highlighting the severity of the situation.
He stated: "The situation due to the jam was extremely bad. Three ambulances were stuck. One of them had a heart patient being referred from Damoh to Jabalpur."
Ambulance Stuck for an Hour; Traffic Cleared After 90 Minutes
Acting swiftly on information received, Damoh CSP H.R. Pandey arrived on the spot with a police team. After nearly one and a half hours of continuous efforts, the traffic jam was finally cleared, and the ambulance with the cardiac patient was safely escorted out.
CSP Pandey reported the negligence of the venue operators to SP Shrutkirti Somvanshi, following which the police lodged FIRs against six marriage garden owners.
FIR Registered Against Six Marriage Garden Operators
Police registered cases under:
IPC Section 270 – Negligent act likely to spread infection
IPC Section 285 – Negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter
A report will be forwarded to the Collector for further action.

BJP Leader Slams Administration
BJP leader Manish Tiwari criticized the authorities, alleging poor traffic management. He said he personally helped reroute two ambulances — one from Marutal Bypass and another nearly 100 metres inside the jam — by guiding them through Chopda Khurd village.
Tiwari further alleged that such incidents occur frequently, but the district administration fails to enforce proper regulation and preventive measures during the wedding season.
