Jabalpur. The High Court has lifted the ban on the civil judge recruitment process in Madhya Pradesh. The HC has directed to complete the recruitment process within 3 months. The division bench of Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Vivek Jain of the High Court gave this decision. In fact, by issuing an advertisement on 17.11.2023, a total of 138 posts including 06 posts of Civil Judge, Junior Section (Entry Level) were advertised by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

According to the advertisement issued, 31 posts of unreserved category and 17 posts of unreserved category backlog, 09 posts of Scheduled Caste and 11 posts of backward class, 109 posts of Scheduled Tribe 12 posts, 09 posts of backward class of OBC and 01 post of backward class, 06 posts for disabled, thus an advertisement was issued to fill a total of 138 posts for Civil Judge.

An objection was raised by the Advocate Union for Democracy and Social Justice regarding this recruitment. Senior advocates Rameshwar Singh Thakur and Vinayak Prasad Shah argued on behalf of the petitioner in the court. The petitioners said that there cannot be a backlog of unreserved category, so those posts are against the rules.

The High Court put a stay on this
The petitioners also said that as per the rule after the preliminary examination, 3 times the number of candidates should have been called for interview on the basis of merit, but this was not done. In particular, it was alleged that talented candidates of reserved category were not included in the list of unreserved category, which is discrimination. Looking at all these issues, the High Court had earlier put a stay on the entire recruitment.
