 Red Alert in MP: Heavy Rainfall May Cause Flooding

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Madhya Pradesh, warning of extremely heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding in several areas. Citizens are advised to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures.

The rainy season continues in Madhya Pradesh. In the last few days, so much water fell that the water quota of many cities was completed. Not only this, the dams were filled to the brim and roads and bridges were submerged. Now the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert warning of heavy rain.

Heavy rain expected in many areas

According to the Meteorological Department, light to heavy rain may occur in some districts of the state for the next few days. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Datia and Bhind districts of the state in the next 24 hours. A low pressure area is likely to form in the west-central Bay of Bengal, which may cause heavy rain.

Trough line moving towards the Bay of Bengal

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the southwest monsoon moving to the lower areas, a trough line is going over the state through the northern part of the country. At present, it is moving towards the Bay of Bengal. Also, a cyclonic circulation system is also formed over western Uttar Pradesh.

Big change in weather from 14th August

Another trough line is active over West Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rain is expected in the districts of East Madhya Pradesh in the coming days. A big change in the weather is expected from 14th August.

Heavy rain here in 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 125 mm was recorded in Churhat of Sidhi district of East Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, 85 mm rain was also recorded in Barhi of Katni district, 82 mm in Huzur of Rewa and 77.5 mm in Majhgaon of Satna.

32% more rain has been received
Let us tell you that so far 32% more rain has been received in MP than the average. In this, about 37% more rain than the average has been recorded in East Madhya Pradesh, while 27% more rain than the average has been recorded in West Madhya Pradesh.
