The deceased has been identified as Shubham Dangi, a resident of Nimkheda. According to police sources, the murder was the violent culmination of a long-standing family dispute. The primary accused is Shubham's elder cousin, Surendra Singh Dangi, who allegedly suspected Shubham of having an illicit relationship with his wife.
A Pre-Meditated and Violent Assault
Reports indicate that Surendra Singh Dangi, accompanied by his two sons, a woman, and another accomplice, carried out the vicious attack. The assailants first assaulted Shubham with sticks before shooting him. In a horrifying turn of events, they then reportedly severed his head by cutting his neck.
Upon hearing the commotion, Shubham’s brother, Ranveer Dangi, arrived at the scene in an attempt to intervene. Tragically, he was also shot, with the bullet piercing through his stomach. Ranveer was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Police Investigation Underway
Senior police officials, including SDOP Khurai Sachin Parte and Station In-Charge Ashok Yadav, promptly arrived at the crime scene. The body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. A murder case has been officially registered against Surendra Singh Dangi and the other accused individuals.
This is not the first time tensions between the cousins have surfaced. Police revealed that Surendra had previously filed a missing person report for his wife back in August, highlighting the ongoing acrimony.
