10-Feet Deep Pit Forms After Road Collapse in Bhopal: PWD Clarifies, Seeks Report on Dilapidated Roads

After heavy rains on Thursday in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, a pothole more than 10 feet deep was formed on a busy road near Maharana Pratap Nagar intersection. This road is one of the busiest roads in Bhopal and an old drain is flowing beneath it. It is a matter of relief that no accident happened due to the road collapse. The road that has collapsed belongs to PWD.
PWD gave clarification
As soon as the complaint of pothole in the road near Maharana Pratap Chauraha (Jyoti Talkies) located in MP Nagar was received, the Public Works Department (PWD) has started immediate action. On the social media platform X, PWD said that there is a 50-year-old underground drain near Jyoti Talkies on this route, due to the weakening of its wall, a part of the road collapsed. The department has started repairing the drain and soon the damaged road will be rebuilt.
