27 May Mahakal Bhasma Aarti: Baba Adorned with Cannabis, Sandalwood & Dry Fruits
Devotees Witness Divine Darshan of Lord Mahakal in a Unique, Sacred Form
On 27 May, during the auspicious Bhasma Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Lord Mahakal was beautifully adorned with cannabis (bhang), fragrant sandalwood paste, and an offering of dry fruits. This rare and spiritually significant form drew large crowds of devotees eager to witness the divine spectacle and seek blessings from the Lord of Time.
Ujjain. The doors of the temple were opened at 4 am on Tuesday morning on the Amavasya date of Jyeshtha month Krishna Paksha in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar temple. Lord Mahakal was first anointed with water. After this, Abhishek Puja was done with Panchamrit made of milk, curd, ghee, honey, fruit juice.
On Saturday, divine decoration of Lord Mahakal was done. Ashes were offered to Shri Mahakaleshwar. Along with this, a silver crown of Sheshnag, silver Mundmal, Rudraksh garland along with a garland of flowers made of fragrant flowers were worn. Baba was offered fruits and sweets. Bhole Baba was attractively decorated with dry fruits.
