52 Kg Gold & ₹11 Cr Cash Case: Aides of Saurabh Sharma, 4 Cops Face Action
In the high-profile case involving 52 kg of gold and ₹11 crore in cash, authorities have issued notices to close associates of Saurabh Sharma and four police personnel, including an inspector stationed at check posts. Investigations are underway amid rising public and political scrutiny.
In the much talked about case of former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, his close aides have also come under the radar. In this connection, the Lokayukta Police has issued notice to the inspector and four constables posted at the check posts. In the case, notice has been issued to 4 constables including Transport Inspector Kishore Singh Baghel, retired Inspector Viresh Kumar Tumaram.
Let us tell you that Lokayukta had conducted a raid at Saurabh Sharma's house in Bhopal on 9 December 2024. During the raid, cash and gold worth crores was found. The Income Tax Department team recovered 11 crore cash and 52 kg gold from a luxury car. As soon as the matter came to light, there was an earthquake in the politics of the state. There has been a round of allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the matter.
Many people have been arrested in the case and the investigation is going on. It is not yet known who owned the 52 kg gold and 11 crore cash. The opposition has accused the government and the transport minister of collusion. At present, the Lokayukta, ED and EOW have taken action in the case and the investigation is ongoing. New revelations are also being made layer by layer during the Lokayukta's inquiry.
