Accident in the Temple of Education: School Balcony Collapses, Over 50 Students Escape Narrowly

A major accident was averted when a school balcony collapsed during class hours, putting the lives of more than 50 students at risk. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the incident highlights the alarming condition of school infrastructure and the urgent need for safety measures.
A major accident was averted in the primary school located in village Vijha of Gram Panchayat Barha Tola under District Panchayat Byahari of Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh. Due to intermittent rain for two days, the balcony of the 30-year-old dilapidated school building suddenly collapsed, but luckily there was no loss of life.
Children were not present at the time of the accident
The balcony of the dilapidated primary school operating in village Vijha of Gram Panchayat Barha Tola under District Panchayat Byahari of the district collapsed. Children were not present in the school at the time of the accident, otherwise a major accident could have happened. After the accident, all the children were shifted to a safe place in another room, which averted a possible tragedy.
The building is three decades old
Teachers and villagers of the village say that this building is three decades old and has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. During rainy days, water drips from the roof, cracks have appeared in the walls and the foundation of the building has also become weak. On the other hand, teacher Ranjana Singh said that the department has been informed several times about the dilapidated building, but no concrete action has been taken till date.
Local public representatives expressed concern over the accident
Local public representatives have also expressed deep concern over the accident and said that if the administration's negligence continues, then one day this building can take the lives of many innocent children. They have demanded from the district administration that a new building should be constructed soon, so that both the education and life of the children can remain safe.
