Clashes between BJP and Congress workers during Shahi Sawari in Ujjain

Tension erupted in Ujjain during the Shahi Sawari as BJP and Congress workers clashed violently. Heavy kicking and punching were reported in the scuffle, leaving a policeman injured. Police intervened to control the situation.
BJP and Congress workers clashed with each other during the royal procession of Shri Dhurjateshwar Mahadev in Mahidpur of Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday evening. The atmosphere deteriorated and kicks, punches and chairs started flying between the two sides.
According to the information, supporters of Congress MLA from Mahidpur Dinesh Jain Boss had set up a welcome stage in front of Jagdish Gymnasium on Gandhi Marg. Meanwhile, supporters of former BJP MLA Bahadur Singh Chauhan passed by there. It is alleged that BJP workers made lewd comments in front of the stage, to which Congress workers objected. The minor altercation gradually turned into a fight.
Police force was present to control the situation, but chairs also started being thrown amid the ruckus. During this, a policeman was injured after being hit by a chair. A video of the incident has also surfaced in which both the groups can be seen fighting with each other.
Congress MLA Dinesh Jain Boss said that the action of BJP workers has led to a dispute and he has lodged a complaint in the police station in this matter. The police brought the situation under control on the spot and started investigating the entire matter.
