CM Mohan Yadav stresses on self-reliant cow shelters in MP

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said self-reliant cow shelters can make a significant contribution to the economy, highlighting their importance in Madhya Pradesh’s development.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that self-reliant cowsheds can make a significant contribution to the economy of the state. Cowsheds can become prosperous by earning money from cow dung and cow urine. He directed to develop a system for the sale of products made from cow urine and cow dung along with milk products. He also emphasized on producing electricity from solar energy in cowsheds.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that self-reliant cowsheds can make a significant contribution to the economy of the state. Cowsheds can become prosperous by earning money from waste like cow dung, cow urine etc. Therefore, to develop self-reliant cowsheds, a system should be developed for the sale of products made from cow urine and cow dung along with milk products in cowsheds. Along with this, the space available in cowsheds should also be used for producing electricity from solar energy.
Cow rearing of indigenous breeds should be encouraged according to the local environment in different regions of the state. Religious institutions and donors should be involved in the management of cowsheds. The number of veterinarians is less in proportion to the livestock available in the state. For better management of cattle and increase in milk production, it is necessary to increase the number of veterinarians. Necessary steps should be taken in this direction.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions in the meeting of Madhya Pradesh Gausamvardhan Board held in the Ministry. Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Lakhan Patel, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and other officials were present in the meeting.
What did Mohan Yadav say in the meeting?
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that as per the intention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gir, Sahiwal, Malvi and Nagauri breed livestock should be encouraged to encourage indigenous breed of cattle in the state. Necessary innovations should also be made to increase cattle rearing activities in the tribal areas of the state. By working in a coordinated manner in the field of animal husbandry-agriculture-horticulture and renewable energy in the state, the income of farmers will also increase and the state will also be able to be included in the top states of the country in the direction of milk production.

In the meeting, it was informed that the Gau Samvardhan Board is transferring the amount directly from the state level to the bank accounts of the Gaushala Committees. 937 new Gaushalas have been registered after their establishment by the Board, in which one lakh 10 thousand cattle are getting shelter. In the year 2024-25, biogas cum organic manure manufacturing plants were established in Vidisha, Dewas, Agar-Malwa, Gwalior, Damoh, Satna and Rewa. Municipal Corporations of Gwalior, Indore and Ujjain have started operating large Gaushalas. The work of setting up Gaushalas is going on in Bhopal and Jabalpur. The progress of the policy of setting up self-reliant Gaushalas was also reviewed in the meeting.
