Congress to Review Popularity of Leaders in MP

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress will conduct an internal assessment to gauge the popularity and performance of its representatives across the state.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Party is assessing the popularity of its elected public representatives. This step has been taken after the defeat in the 2023 assembly and Lok Sabha elections. In the first phase, the representatives of urban bodies will be assessed, then the MLAs. This evaluation will be done on the basis of the feedback of the workers.

Taking a lesson from the crushing defeat at the hands of the BJP in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will assess the popularity of its elected public representatives in Madhya Pradesh for the first time. It will start with urban bodies and in the second phase, the popularity of MLAs will be assessed. Urban bodies have been taken in the first phase because its elections are proposed first in the year 2027. After their results, the election atmosphere will start building in the state.

The party has decided that through the workers, on the basis of the contact, communication and work of the public representatives with the voters, it will be ascertained what is their image in the area. It will also be assessed that if they are popular or unpopular, then what is the reason for this. On this basis, the Congress organisation will call public representatives body-wise and they will be alerted and guided regarding the upcoming preparations.
