The government has taken a major step to make the higher education sector in the state more systematic and transparent. The process of opening new private colleges, introducing new faculties or subjects, and continuing existing courses has been made completely online.
The Higher Education Department has issued guidelines, giving colleges until September 20th to apply. Those wishing to start new colleges, faculties, subjects, or syllabi in the upcoming academic session 2026-27 must apply online on the portal within the stipulated timeframe. Timely application has also been made mandatory to maintain the continuity of existing courses.
