India’s First Diamond Office Building Ready in Panna, MP

Panna, Madhya Pradesh, now hosts the country’s first diamond office building, set to streamline diamond auctions and boost the region’s gem trade.

The country's first diamond office building has been completed in Panna, providing modern facilities for diamond auctions and trading. The building has seating for 200 traders and CCTV cameras have been installed for security. The establishment of the diamond office will further strengthen Panna's diamond industry and provide convenience to traders.

The Panna district in Bundelkhand, Madhya Pradesh, is world-renowned for its quality diamonds. Now, the country's first diamond office is ready. This building will accommodate over 200 diamond traders for auctions. Diamond exhibitions will be organized here. CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the campus for security.

All necessary arrangements, including a guard room, departmental rooms, and toilets, have been ensured. It is expected that the auction of 69.22 carat 96 diamonds deposited in the year 2025, will take place in this building after Diwali, with participation from traders from various cities across the country.

The diamond office was established in 1960 in a room in the Collectorate. The unavailability of a hall for the three-day auction caused numerous problems. Consequently, the auctions were not held on time, and the number of diamond depositors was declining.
This approximately 2,000 square feet building, constructed at a cost of 1.5 crore rupees, is behind the new Collectorate building. A hall has been constructed on the first floor, where auctions and meetings can be held. The second floor has four rooms, which will house the diamond officer and diamonds.
