Family accuses boyfriend of assault
Khushboo’s elder sister, Kajal Ahirwar, alleged that Qasim had assaulted Khushboo in the past. She claimed that her sister had injury marks on her face and body, suggesting possible violence. Kajal revealed that two months ago, Qasim had allegedly beaten Khushboo during a dispute in Lateri, linked to one of his friend’s wives.
Relationship and background
Khushboo and Qasim began living together 16 months ago after meeting at a lounge in Bhopal. Qasim, a resident of Ujjain, has denied all allegations of assault and claimed innocence. He told the police that the unborn child was his and that he and Khushboo were planning to get married soon.
The couple lived at Bhanpur Multi in Bhopal. Their flat remained locked for over a month when Qasim was jailed in a liquor smuggling case registered in Lateri. During that period, Khushboo stayed at her mother’s home in Mandi Bamora. After Qasim’s release, the two moved back in together.
The final journey and hospital CCTV footage
According to police sources, Qasim took Khushboo to Ujjain to meet his family. On their return journey, her condition suddenly worsened in the bus. The driver stopped near a hospital, and Qasim rushed her inside on a stretcher. CCTV footage has captured Qasim taking her to the hospital, but he reportedly fled after seeing her unconscious.
Hospital authorities informed the police, who registered a case of unnatural death and initiated a full investigation.
Post-mortem findings
DCP Zone-4 Mayur Khandelwal confirmed that the short post-mortem report indicated Khushboo’s death was caused by pregnancy complications due to a ruptured fallopian tube. While the report did not confirm external injuries, the final post-mortem report is awaited. The police are continuing Qasim’s interrogation.
Khushboo’s dreams and career
Khushboo, who had completed her BA first year before dropping out, had been living in Bhopal for the past three years. She worked as a local model for multiple brands and took part-time jobs to support herself. Family members say she often spoke about achieving success in life and making her late father proud.
