The torrential rain on Thursday night in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh, increased the water level of the Narmada river unexpectedly. When the water of small and big rivers and streams located in the area met the Narmada, the flow of Maa Narmada appeared faster and wider than ever before. Despite continuous power generation from the Omkareshwar dam, the water level is being controlled.

This is the first time in 2025 that the water level of the Narmada river has increased so much. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the eastern and western construction areas in the coming days, which the administration has taken seriously and put the concerned departments on high alert.

Mother Narmada appeared in two forms

After the rain, an amazing scene is visible in the water of the Narmada river. The Narmada river was seen flowing in two different forms in the western part originating from Omkareshwar - Mortakka, Barwah, Khedighat and Navghatkhedi.

The water on one side of the river appeared muddy and murky, which was the dirty water brought by the upper streams, rivers and downstream. On the other side, the water appeared relatively clean and transparent, which was possible due to the controlled flow from the dam. This scene was a unique natural experience for the devotees and local residents.
