Armed robbers loot house in Bamori, Guna; flee with ₹3 lakh cash and jewellery while family sleeps nearby
Digital Desk
In a dramatic late-night robbery, criminals carried out an armed loot at a house in the Bamori area of Guna district on Sunday night. Three assailants entered the house and threatened the head of the family at gunpoint, demanding the key to a locker. The robbers escaped with around ₹3 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewellery. Shockingly, other family members were sleeping in a nearby room and remained unaware of the incident.
The incident took place in Sonkhra village. According to the victim, Pahalwan Dhakad, he was sleeping in the main room around midnight, while his son, daughter-in-law, and children were asleep in an adjacent room. Suddenly, three intruders entered his room and pressed a firearm-like object against his neck, demanding the locker key.
Out of fear, he handed over the key kept inside the refrigerator. The accused then ransacked the house, took cash from the locker, and removed jewellery from the cupboard.
Before fleeing, the robbers tied the victim with a rope and escaped. Remarkably, none of the other family members heard any noise during the robbery.
Upon receiving information, Bamori police rushed to the spot during the night. Station House Officer Dilip Rajput said a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint, and fingerprint experts were called to collect forensic evidence.
Police are also probing a possible link to a violent land dispute that occurred in Sonkhra village three days earlier. During that incident, 70-year-old Shankarlal Dhakad was seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment in Bhopal. Six accused have been arrested in that case, while three remain absconding. The house targeted in the robbery belongs to the family of the injured man, and investigators are examining this angle as well.
