Bajrang Dal workers clash with family: Complaints filed from both ends

On Sunday in Bhopal’s Gehun Kheda locality in Kolar, over the treatment of a sick calf, the police said. The Bajrang Dal workers reportedly accused a local family of abandoning the calf without medical attention, while the family denied ownership. The argument soon escalated into a physical fight, resulting in injuries on both sides, the police added.

According to local residents, the calf had been wandering near the house of Gaya Prasad Dwivedi for several days in an unwell condition. The Bajrang Dal workers alleged that the calf belonged to Dwivedi’s family and had been neglected.

When the workers approached the family on Sunday morning and insisted on providing treatment, the family refused, leading to a confrontation.

Allegations

Gaya Prasad alleged that Bajrang Dal workers entered his home, created chaos, assaulted him, and vandalised his property by breaking windowpanes with stones. In contrast, Bajrang Dal claimed that the family and its supporters attacked their workers and pelted stones at them.

The scuffle left Gaya Prasad, his son, and several Bajrang Dal members injured. After the incident, Bajrang Dal workers staged a protest outside the Kolar police station demanding action. However, after police intervention, both sides eventually agreed to a compromise.

Sanjay Soni, Kolar police station in-charge said -“Both parties have filed complaints accusing each other of assault. Medical examinations of the injured have been conducted. Further action will be taken after investigation.”
