Ban on Muslims at Garba: Bhopal Qazi Maulana Ali Qadar supports ban on Muslims at Garba and urges govt to make strict rules

Maulana Ali Qadar, has stated that Muslims should not participate in Garba. Talking about recent incidents involving provocative posters outside Garba Pandals, Qazi said the government should make rules to remove non-Hindus from participating.

‘’Garba is a Hindu festival, its a part of their cultural and values. I suggest passing a law that no non-Hindu should participate. Even schoolgirls who are not Hindu should not be performing Garba. If any Muslim is seen participating anywhere in the world, authorities should stop them’’ He stated.

He said also said, “Participation in Garba is against Islamic principles. If a Muslim attends such events, it violates the teachings of Islam. Music, dance, and uncovered women at Garba events are not allowed in Islam. Any involvement in idol worship-related events is religiously prohibited.”\

Maulana cited the Quran to clarify his place on Garba participation. He stressed that Islam promotes helping humanity without distinction between Hindus or Muslims. However, religious events involving idol worship or activities contrary to Islamic teachings are considered inappropriate.

Take action on controversial posters

Regarding controversial posters displayed outside Garba Pandals, Qazi stated they target Muslims and urged authorities to act. He stressed that labeling an entire community as extremists is unjust, and only individuals committing illegal acts should be punished.

The controversy erupted after posters outside Shri Krishna Seva Samiti’s Garba pandal in Awadhpuri, Bhopal, warned, “Jihadis are strictly prohibited; violators will be sent home.” Images of shoes, sticks, and other threats accompanied the messages.
