Bhopal: Commuters using the New Market and MP Nagar multilevel parking facilities in Bhopal will soon be able to pay parking charges through digital modes such as FASTag, UPI and mobile applications.The new payment system is being introduced to make parking operations faster and more transparent, especially in busy commercial areas where vehicles often queue at entry and exit points.Under the proposed arrangement, motorists will have multiple payment options instead of depending only on cash or manual ticketing systems.
FASTag-based entry and exit system planned
The introduction of FASTag is expected to allow automatic identification of vehicles at parking entry and exit points. This can help reduce transaction time and improve traffic movement around parking facilities.
Officials are also working on integrating UPI-based payment options, allowing users to scan and pay parking fees directly through digital payment applications.
Mobile app facility for parking payments
Apart from FASTag and UPI, users may also be able to pay parking charges through a dedicated mobile application.
The app-based system is expected to provide commuters with a more convenient way to complete payments without waiting at payment counters.
Focus on reducing congestion in commercial areas
