A student of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal and former NSUI president, Aman Kumar has been named in a major cyber fraud case.
Aman, along with his accomplice Vishal Kumar, son of a Bihar village Sarpanch, used government schemes to lure people and opened over 250 accounts in India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).The accounts were used for suspicious transactions worth around 3 crore rupees.

Irshad introduced Aman to Arshad, who is based in Pakistan. These three were working together to rob people. According to NSUI Vice President Aman Pathan, Aman Kumar was made the NSUI president at MCU, but he was not active, so he was removed.
Used to open accounts
During police interrogation of the accused in Motihari, it was revealed that these three had opened more than 250 accounts in the Indian Post Payment Bank by luring people with 500 rupees. These accounts were used for transactions of more than 3 crore rupees obtained through fraud.
When account holders asked for their passbooks, they were told that the accounts had been closed. When they asked the Sarpanch and his son about the money coming in, they were put off.
Later, the entire scheme came to light after the bank froze the accounts and the police issued notices to the account holders.
Rs 2500 to Rs 5000 were received
The investigation revealed that Aman Kumar, while living in Bhopal, had been working on opening accounts for the past two years. Besides people from Bihar, he also opened accounts in Bhopal.
After which, he recently reached Motihari from Bhopal. He used to get Rs 2500 to Rs 5000 on each account, he also had a share in the transactions made from the accounts many times.
