Digital Desk
Body of a 30-year-old man, missing for two days, was found in Bhopal’s Upper Lake on Friday afternoon. Victim has been identified as Chunnu Khan, son of Kale Khan, who lived near Hari Mazar in Karond and worked as a carpenter.
Police have registered a case and started investigating. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem.
Farid, Chunnu’s elder brother ,said he left home at 1 PM on Wednesday to meet his brothers-in-law, Mujahid and Shoaib. Farid added that Chunnu’s wife, Rehana, had called him before the incident. She said her husband was not answering the calls. She feared something unfortunate. Rehana told Farid that Shoaib and Mujahid were near Iqbal Ground.
When the brother reached there searching, he found Shoaib. Shoaib refused to give any information about Chunnu and left from there.
When wife Rehana last spoke to her husband Chunnu, he had indicated his location was near Iqbal Maidan.
Therefore, Talaya police had registered Chunnu's missing person report based on Rehana's complaint.
Farid alleges that Mujahid and Shoaib would often harass his brother. They would beat him up, and he is completely convinced that both of them planned the murder and threw the body in the lake.
