Candidate Caught Cheating with Smartwatch in State Engineering Service Exam

Only 55% of candidates appeared for the State Engineering Service Exam, reducing competition. Meanwhile, one candidate was caught cheating using a smartwatch.
The State Engineering Service Examination of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (PSC) was conducted on Sunday. During this, a candidate was caught red-handed cheating at Indore Center. According to the information, the candidate was cheating with Bluetooth through a smart watch. During the examination inspection, the observer saw a light Bluetooth light coming out of the watch, after which a complete investigation was done and a cheating case was registered.
PSC OSD Dr. R Panchbhai said that the examination has been completed without any major disruption. Only one cheating case has been made, after investigation of which further action will be decided.
Average attendance was 55%
This time about 4400 candidates were registered in the examination, but only 55 percent appeared. 13 examination centers were set up in Indore. There were about 350 contenders for one post, but due to low attendance, the competition reduced to 158 contenders per post.
Recruitment status
In 2021, 493 posts were released through this examination. In 2022, this number decreased to 36.
No posts were released in 2023.
Only nominal posts were announced in 2024 also.
First Paper: General Studies (150 marks, 50 questions)
Second Paper: Related Subject (300 marks, 100 questions)
The exam was conducted for all three engineering branches - Civil, Mechanical and Electrical.
