Three men were killed and one critically injured after a car rammed into a truck near Nayagaon in Neemuch district along the Madhya Pradesh–Rajasthan border in the early hours of Friday, police said.
The accident occurred around 1:45 am when the car, travelling from Sanwaliya Seth towards Malhargarh, allegedly lost control and crashed into the rear of a moving truck near Nayagaon. The impact was severe, leaving the car completely mangled and killing three occupants on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Pinkesh Mandaliya, a young businessman from Malhargarh; Bharat Mori (Dangi), his associate; and Govardhan Lusodiya, a resident of Lusodiya Kadmala. Another occupant, Rai Singh, son of Gora Kachhava and a resident of Bhainsakheda, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical.
According to eyewitnesses, the car appeared to veer off balance before slamming into the truck from behind. Locals alerted the police, who reached the scene, recovered the bodies from the wreckage, and arranged for post-mortem examinations. A marg (inquest) case has been registered, and the circumstances leading to the accident are under investigation.
Police officials said factors such as speed, driver fatigue, and road conditions are being examined. The truck involved in the collision was also seized for inspection as part of the inquiry.
The death of Pinkesh Mandaliya, who was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Porwal Yuva Sangathan, has cast a pall of gloom over Malhargarh. News of the accident spread quickly, drawing large crowds to the hospital and the accident site. Members of the business community and social organisations expressed shock and grief over the loss.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution during late-night travel, particularly on border highways, where heavy vehicle movement is common.
