Civil Engineer Found Dead in Locked Car; Murder Case Filed by Sukhi Sewaniya Police
Bhopal, M.P
A decomposed body of a 46-year-old civil engineer, Kapil Sharma, was found inside a locked car near Bijasen Farmhouse under Sukhi Sewaniya police station limits. He had been missing since July 3. After initial investigation and post-mortem confirmation of fatal injuries, police have now registered a case of murder.
Body Found Three Days After Missing Report
Kapil Sharma, a resident of Sant Asharam Nagar in the Bag Sewaniya area, had left home on July 3 for work. His wife, who was staying with her parents in Neelbad at the time, lodged a missing person’s report after he did not return. On July 6, police discovered his body in the driver’s seat of his locked vehicle after a tip-off. Due to advanced decomposition, injuries were not immediately visible.
Post-Mortem Reveals Throat Slit
The autopsy report, received days later, revealed that Sharma’s throat had been slit with a sharp object, confirming foul play. Police then registered a case of murder against unknown persons and intensified the investigation.
Police Suspect Personal Angle
Two teams are probing the case—one is tracing Sharma’s last movements through CCTV footage and phone records, while the other is questioning acquaintances. Sources suggest that the investigation is exploring a possible personal or extramarital relationship as a motive behind the crime.
Real Estate Dealings Under Lens
Sharma was also involved in property dealings alongside his engineering profession. Police are investigating whether a professional rivalry or financial dispute could have led to the murder. Notably, on the night he went missing, Sharma was last seen with a friend, Deepak Kushwaha. While Deepak returned home, Sharma disappeared.
Police officials stated that progress is being made and a major breakthrough is expected soon.
