CM Dr. Mohan Yadav Launches Ban on Single-Use Plastics in Protected Areas

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to launch a program today implementing a strict ban on single-use plastics across all National Parks and Tiger Reserves, aiming to protect wildlife and promote sustainable tourism.

 

A major step has been taken towards environmental protection in Madhya Pradesh's national parks and tiger reserves. A complete ban on single-use plastic will be implemented in the state's major national parks and tiger reserves from October 1st. The Forest Department has geared up to ensure strict compliance with this rule. Tourists using banned plastic will be fined between ₹500 and ₹5,000.

This step will not only promote environmental protection but also create environmental awareness among tourists. The major tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh where this rule will be implemented include Kanha Tiger Reserve, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Pench Tiger Reserve, Panna Tiger Reserve, Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve, Sanjay Tiger Reserve, Dr. Vishnu Wakankar (Ratapani) Tiger Reserve, and Madhav Tiger Reserve.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will have a busy day today. After returning from Delhi to Bhopal, he will launch the state-level Swadeshi Jagran Week and inaugurate development projects in Sagar district. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will depart for Bhopal from New Delhi at 9:15 am. After a nearly two-hour flight, he will arrive at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal at 11:15 am. There, he will inaugurate the state-level Swadeshi Jagran Week, organized jointly by the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad and Swadeshi Jagran Manch. This week will run from September 25th to October 2nd, during which various activities will be conducted to promote the adoption of Swadeshi.

At 1:10 pm, the Chief Minister will arrive in Jaisinghnagar (V.S. Surkhi) in Sagar district. There, he will inaugurate the Namo Fruit Garden and address a public gathering. He will then attend a special program celebrating the birth centenary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya at the Padmakar Auditorium in Sagar city. This program will commemorate the birth centenary of BJP ideologue Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya, discussing his philosophy of Integral Humanism. His day will conclude with his return to Bhopal at 6 pm.
