CM Dr. Mohan Slams Emergency: Calls It a Blot on Democracy

On the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan strongly criticized the 1975 decision, calling it a "black spot on Indian democracy." He paid tribute to the democracy fighters who bravely resisted the authoritarian rule and upheld the spirit of the Constitution.
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr Mohan Yadav has fiercely attacked the Emergency on its anniversary. He has described the Emergency as a dark chapter of democracy and a blot on democracy. The Chief Minister said that those who imposed the Emergency can never be free from this stigma. After 50 years, this is a lesson that no one should dare to impose an Emergency again. While congratulating the people of the state, he said that India is the largest democracy and the largest republic in the world today because of the democracy fighters.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will participate in the Samvidhan Hatya Diwas programs in the presence of democracy fighters in Indore on June 25 and Bhopal on June 26. The CM said in his message that democracy fighters fought to protect democracy. Innocent people were imprisoned during that period. Many people spent the entire period of Emergency in jail. Untold atrocities were committed on people during the Emergency. Many restrictions were also imposed. Our democracy fighters faced many hardships, but they remained steadfast in protecting democracy.
He congratulated the democracy fighters and the people of the state, because of whom India is the largest democracy today and has established itself as the world's largest republic. While talking about the celebration of Black Day at various places, the Chief Minister said that the victims of Emergency will always remember it and also wished that such a bad day never comes.
