Historic Gathering for Water Conservation

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Sadanira Samagam under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan at Bharat Bhavan on June 20 at 6 pm. The program will be presided over by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts and Endowments Dharmendra Singh Lodhi. The Samagam will begin with the release of the short film 'Sadanira' directed by Rishikesh Pandey. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will also release the books Sadanira, Prithvi Pani Ka Desh Hai…, Amrit Jaldhara (four volumes) and 'Jal Dhara' published by Veer Bharat Trust, Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council and Madhya Pradesh Tribal Folk Art and Dialect Development Academy. Many dignitaries including Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Anurag Jain, Principal Secretary of Culture and Tourism Department Shiv Shekhar Shukla will be present in the program.

Cultural Advisor to the Chief Minister and Trustee Secretary of Veer Bharat Trust Shriram Tiwari said that 'Sadanira Samagam' is the only such ceremony in the country which is full of various activities to promote and preserve rivers, water sources and water structures. This is happening for the first time when more than 200 scientists, archaeologists, writers, authors, journalists, film actors and drama artists from various mediums including literature, art and science will participate. The trustee secretary said that Sadanira Samagam is not just a festival, but a collective effort to show gratitude and awareness towards our rivers, water culture and life-giving water streams. The event will give a strong message of presenting rivers not just as physical water sources, but as cultural heritage, spiritual base and public consciousness.
