Addressing the gathering, Dr. Yadav highlighted several development initiatives for Ujjain and the surrounding region. “A metropolitan city is being developed by connecting areas around Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal,” he said. He further announced expedited land acquisition for a new airport in Ujjain, alongside plans for another airport in Shivpuri. Three new Ayurvedic colleges are also slated to be established in Ujjain this year.
The Chief Minister detailed welfare schemes for women, emphasizing the Ladli Behna Yojana, under which beneficiaries now receive Rs 1,500 per month. “In the last two years, approximately Rs 50,000 crore has been distributed under this scheme,” he said, adding that financial assistance of Rs 1 crore has been given to Kranti Gond for promoting women’s honour.
Parallel celebrations were held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, where Governor Mangubhai Patel hoisted the national flag and inspected a parade of 22 platoons. Security forces, student groups, and voluntary organizations displayed discipline and patriotism, while 22 departmental tableaux highlighted the state’s development and public welfare initiatives.
Republic Day events across Madhya Pradesh included cultural performances, dog squad parades, folk dance shows in Ujjain, and tableaux showcasing projects like the bullet train, air ambulance service, and forest department initiatives. Children performed a depiction of the Simhastha Kumbh, further enriching the celebrations.
Officials underscored the symbolic importance of hosting the flag hoisting on the banks of the Shipra river, linking Ujjain’s religious and cultural heritage with the state’s development trajectory. “This is a historic occasion that reflects both civic pride and commitment to growth,” said a senior state official.
The celebrations also featured messages from spiritual leaders, including Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, emphasizing the complementary roles of devotion to the nation and spiritual faith.
