CM Mohan Yadav vows Investors Summit in Nimar; celebrates BJP poll wins in Burhanpur
In a major push for industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh’s border district, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday announced that a dedicated Investors Summit will be organized for the Nimar region. Speaking to a gathering of entrepreneurs and local leaders at the Parmanand Govindjiwala Auditorium, the CM emphasized that the state is committed to transforming Burhanpur into a thriving industrial hub.
The visit, which began around 10:30 am when the CM’s chopper landed at the Renuka Mata helipad, was marked by both administrative promises and political posturing. Following the industrial dialogue, Dr. Yadav participated in the 'Vijay Utsav' (Victory Celebration), where he was seen in a light-hearted mood, sharing Jhalmuri with party workers to celebrate the BJP’s electoral performances in West Bengal and Assam.
Focus on Banana Farmers
A significant portion of the Chief Minister’s address was dedicated to the local economy, particularly the textile and banana sectors. Labeling the current year as 'Kisan Kalyan Varsh' (Farmer Welfare Year), Dr. Yadav noted that Burhanpur’s MSME turnover has nearly doubled from ₹436 crore in 2022-23 to over ₹802 crore recently.
"We recognize the hard work of the banana farmers and textile weavers of Burhanpur. The government has already released the first installment of ₹350 crore for the Nimbola industrial cluster," the CM said. He further announced that the Sukhpuri area would be developed as a specialized industrial belt to leverage the district's status as the "Gateway to the South."
Jhalmuri and Political Jibes
The atmosphere turned festive during the 'Jan Vishwas Utsav,' organized by local MLA Archana Chitnis. In a symbolic nod to the party's recent successes in the eastern states, Dr. Yadav sat with senior leaders, including Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat and MLA Manju Dadu, to eat Jhalmuri.
Taking a sharp dig at the opposition, the CM claimed that West Bengal has achieved "true independence" after 75 years. "The people, including the Muslim community in Bengal and Assam, have chosen the path of development with the BJP," he stated. He also criticized the Congress party for its historical stance on the Ram Temple, accusing them of "spreading poison" and failing to visit the temple even after the Supreme Court's landmark verdict.
Infrastructure and Urban Connectivity
To facilitate easier logistical movement for local industries, the CM directed officials to construct a new access road in the Rehta industrial area. He spent time inspecting stalls showcasing local products and interacted with MSME owners to understand ground-level bottlenecks.
"Madhya Pradesh is ready with new land banks and pro-industry policies," Dr. Yadav told the delegation of industrialists. He mentioned that the proposed Traders’ Welfare Board would soon be functional at the district level to streamline grievance redressal for small business owners.
Condolences for MP's Family
Before concluding his visit, the Chief Minister traveled to Boharda village to offer his condolences to Khandwa MP Gyaneshwar Patil. The MP’s younger brother, Vishwanath Patil (Badu Bhai), recently passed away. Dr. Yadav spent time with the grieving family, offering prayers for the departed soul before heading back.
The visit was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Indore Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade and MPIDC Managing Director Chandramouli Shukla, signaling the government's serious intent regarding the Nimar Investors Summit.
