Congress Worker Demands Digvijaya Singh's Expulsion Over RSS Praise

Nidhi Chaturvedi, daughter of late Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi, has called for senior party figure Digvijaya Singh's immediate expulsion, labeling his recent praise of the RSS-BJP organisational structure as "ideological betrayal."
In a scathing Facebook post, Chaturvedi accused Singh of demoralising grassroots workers and delivering a "slap" to Rahul Gandhi's leadership. She demanded strict disciplinary action, arguing his remarks undermined Congress's decades-long opposition to RSS ideology.
The row escalated from Singh's December 27 X post sharing an old photo of Narendra Modi sitting on the floor before LK Advani, which he hailed as proof of the RSS-BJP's strength in elevating grassroots volunteers.
Chaturvedi linked Singh's stance to his family's alleged historical ties with the Hindu Mahasabha, citing his father's past associations and references in books and interviews involving RSS leaders like MS Golwalkar.
Several party voices, including Pawan Khera, had earlier criticised the post, with Rahul Gandhi jokingly rebuking Singh at the Congress Foundation Day event on Sunday.
Singh clarified he admired only organisational discipline, not ideology, insisting he remains a firm opponent of RSS policies.
The episode exposes persistent internal frictions in Congress, particularly over ideological purity amid efforts to regroup against the BJP.
