Cyber Crime: Farmer Duped of ₹7 Lakh After Fake Bank Call

Cybercriminals tricked a farmer by claiming his bank account was about to be closed and asked him to update it. By the time he reached the bank, ₹7 lakh had already been withdrawn from his account.

 
 

Even after awareness by the government administration, cases of cyber crime are not decreasing. People are not able to avoid getting robbed of their hard earned money by falling prey to cyber fraudsters. The latest case is from village Singhpur under Raisen Kotwali police station where cyber fraudsters cheated farmer Rambabu Rajput of Rs 7 lakh 11 thousand and withdrew the amount. Police have registered a case and started investigation.

Actually, cyber fraudsters called farmer Rambabu Rajput and said that your account is getting closed. Go to the bank and update it. As soon as he spoke, Rambabu's mobile got hanged. Immediately after this, when he reached the bank, he came to know that cyber fraudsters had withdrawn an amount of Rs 7 lakh 11 thousand from his account. As soon as the matter came to light, the police put an amount of about one lakh on hold.

The police have registered a case. SDOP Pratibha Sharma says that after registering the case, they are investigating. They will try to reach the accused as soon as possible.
