Deputy CM Shukla Reviews Health Department Recruitment and Medical Infrastructure Development in Madhya Pradesh
Priority Completion of Medical Staff Recruitment Process
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla conducted a comprehensive review meeting of the Public Health and Medical Education Department at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting focused on the medical officer recruitment process along with various critical healthcare initiatives, with strict instructions issued for time-bound action.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the availability of medical officers and paramedical staff is directly linked to the quality of healthcare services. He directed regular monitoring of the medical officer recruitment process being conducted through PSC and the Employee Selection Board, stressing that all formalities should be completed on priority.
Fast-Tracking Specialist Doctor Recruitment
The meeting revealed that out of 1,377 specialist doctors in the recruitment pipeline, a list of 500 specialists has already been received. Deputy CM Shukla issued directions to expedite the appointment process. He stated that specialist doctor recruitment is essential for developing Community Health Centers as First Referral Units.
Timely posting of specialists will strengthen maternal and child health services and effectively control maternal mortality rates and infant mortality rates, contributing to better healthcare outcomes across the state.
Development and Upgradation of Medical Colleges
Taking significant steps toward healthcare infrastructure development, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the following medical college upgradation projects:
Medical Colleges Under Construction:
- Development work ongoing in Budhni, Mandla, Sagar, and Rewa
- Operations proposed from the upcoming session in Budhni, Chhatarpur, and Damoh
- Special focus on furniture, equipment, and manpower recruitment for NMC approval
Shukla directed that all formalities related to revised approvals be completed within the stipulated timeframe to prevent any delays in development work and ensure the expansion of academic and medical facilities as scheduled.
Expansion of Cancer Treatment Facilities
Instructions were issued to ensure timely availability of infrastructure development and necessary equipment for expanding advanced cancer treatment facilities at identified medical colleges including Rewa, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. The objective is to provide quality cancer treatment at the regional level itself, reducing the need to refer patients elsewhere.
Improvements in Nursing Faculty Recruitment
Considering the practical and procedural difficulties in nursing faculty recruitment, amendments to recruitment rules were reviewed. The Deputy Chief Minister directed the department to expeditiously send clarifications to the General Administration Department to ensure availability of human resources and improve the quality of nursing education.
Implementation of CM-Day Care Scheme
For effective implementation of the CM-Day Care Scheme, directions were given to prepare proposals on a priority basis and present them for Cabinet approval, ensuring the scheme's effective rollout across the state.
Upgradation of Sub-Health Centers
During the review of upgradation work at sub-health centers and primary health centers, instructions were issued to ensure timely availability of budgets. The Deputy CM emphasized that there should be no delays due to departmental negligence in medical healthcare infrastructure development work, and all tasks should be completed within the stipulated timeframe to provide better health facilities to the common people.
New Medical Colleges Set for Launch
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla noted that medical colleges under construction in Budhni, Chhatarpur, and Damoh are proposed to begin operations from the upcoming session. Infrastructure development work is in the completion phase. He directed that furniture, equipment, and recruitment of necessary academic and support manpower be completed on time so that NMC approval proceedings can be finalized.
Comprehensive Approach to Healthcare
The review meeting addressed ANM vacant posts, directing their filling on priority. The Deputy CM stressed that medical officer and paramedical staff availability is fundamental to healthcare quality. He emphasized that recruitment through PSC and the Employee Selection Board should be monitored regularly, with all formalities completed expeditiously.
