Electricity police stations will be opened in Madhya Pradesh. One electricity police station will be opened in each of the 6 metros of the state. Security will also be provided to the checking squads during the police station checking campaign. Apart from this, surprise inspection and case diary will also be prepared.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has given instructions to open electricity police stations in the review meeting of the Energy Department. He said that consumers should get electricity at cheaper rates. The smart meter model is the best, so in the interest of electricity consumers, smart meters should be installed in everyone's homes.
Let us tell you that the target is to install 1.34 crore domestic smart meters in the state. So far more than 21 lakh domestic smart meters have been installed. The purpose of opening electricity police stations is to curb power theft. Many times, when electricity companies go to take action in cases of power theft, they do not get the help of local police. But now the checking squads will get the help of the police.
