Hackers stole Rs 20 lakh from the account of a government school teacher in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, by making online transactions. Hackers stole this amount by taking a loan against the teacher's FD deposited in the bank. The teacher's life savings were deposited in the form of FD in Bank of Maharashtra located in Gudikheda. Hackers sent a fake link (APK file) in the name of Maha Mobile App to the teacher's mobile. It contained a virus. The teacher clicked on it unknowingly. Due to that virus, a software like Any Desk got downloaded in the mobile and then it started operating the mobile itself. On the complaint of the victim teacher, the Kotwali police has registered a case of fraud against the unknown miscreant and started investigation.
The fraudster himself started operating the female teacher's mobile
Teacher Rajni Upadhyay had received a loan message. As soon as she opened it, the 'dot APK' file i.e. the software to hack the mobile got downloaded. Then the fraudster himself started using her mobile. The teacher came to know about this when money transactions started happening from her account. When Rajni saw the message and talked to the bank manager, he told her that she had taken a loan against FD. The loan amount has been transferred to the account. After this, the victim teacher Rajni reached the Kotwali police station with her family and lodged a complaint of online fraud of Rs 20 lakh.
