Fresh rainfall lashes Madhya Pradesh, soaking 20 districts

The spell of rain has once again returned to Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday, Sheopur recorded 2 inches of rainfall within just nine hours of active weather. In Malanjkhand, Balaghat, 1 inch of rain was recorded, while light drizzle continued throughout the day in Bhopal, bringing a pleasant chill to the air.

Rainfall was reported across nearly 20 districts, including Indore, Ujjain, Dhar, Narmadapuram, Damoh, Jabalpur, Sagar, Pachmarhi, Ratlam, Shajapur, Dewas, Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Agar-Malwa, and Balaghat.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain, thunderstorms, and lightning from 27 to 29 October. The impact is expected to be more prominent in the Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, and Jabalpur divisions.

Farmers struggle to protect crops

In Sheopur, harvested paddy was washed away by the rain. Farmers worked hard to drain water from their fields to save the remaining crop. In Indore, rain reduced traffic on roads, while Ujjain experienced a cloudy and wet morning.

The Meteorological Department warns that Dhar, Barwani, Jhabua, and Alirajpur may receive 2.5 to 4.5 inches of rain in the next 24 hours. Light rain, thunderstorms, and winds are expected in Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Dewas, Shajapur, Sehore, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat.

Remaining districts to see clear weather

Other districts are expected to have clear skies and sunshine.
