On Anant Chaturdashi, the arrangement of immersion of idols in the artificial pond made by Budhni Nagar Parishad was seen coming in the way of people's faith. Devotees want to immerse Ganesh idols in the holy water of Maa Narmada, but the police was adamant on stopping them and getting them immersed in the pond. Due to this, a large number of people are immersing idols at Gwal Ghat, Sindhi Ghat, Bade Wale Baba Ghat and the ghats around the bridge.
Why are idols made of clay being stopped?
In a town with a population of about 25 thousand, only 60 small idols were immersed in the artificial pond till 5 pm. People say that when immersion of ashes takes place in Narmada, then why are idols made of clay being stopped?
Difference between faith and conduct of the government
At the same time, many people raised the question that the administration is strict about idol immersion but is not paying attention to illegal sand excavation and illegal liquor on the banks of Narmada. Local citizens allege that the BJP government has a difference between faith and conduct, due to which resentment is being seen among the people. The information was given by Jai Singh Verma, local Prasad shopkeeper and Advocate Pramod Chauhan.
