Gwalior Court Declares BJP MLA's Son Dinesh Lodhi an Absconder, Issues Permanent Arrest Warrant
Gwalior, MP
In a significant legal development, the Special SC/ST Court in Gwalior has declared Dinesh Lodhi, son of BJP MLA Pritam Singh Lodhi, an absconder after he repeatedly failed to appear before the court. The court has also issued a permanent arrest warrant, directing the police to arrest him and produce him before the court without delay.
The court ordered that the case diary be marked in red ink with the remark "Accused is absconding," reflecting the seriousness of the matter. The decision came after authorities were unable to execute previously issued arrest warrants despite repeated efforts.
The case against Dinesh Lodhi is registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act at Purani Chhawani Police Station in Gwalior. The first arrest warrant was issued on December 28, 2023, but the accused allegedly remained absent from court proceedings on multiple occasions.
Citing his continued non-appearance and the failure to secure his arrest, the Special Court formally declared him an absconder and issued a permanent arrest warrant to ensure his appearance before the judiciary.
Dinesh Lodhi has previously been in the spotlight over another controversial case in Pichhore, Shivpuri district. With the latest court order, the focus has now shifted to the police, who have been directed to trace, arrest, and present him before the court. The next course of action in the case will be closely monitored.
