Monsoon Active Across MP, Heavy Rain Warning for Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain & Sagar

The monsoon has become active in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain, and Sagar divisions.

Monsoon has become active in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. There is waterlogging and flood-like situation in rivers at many places. Today, on Monday (23 June), a warning of heavy rain has been issued in Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain and Sagar divisions. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Gwalior Chambal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the trough line is active from Pakistan to Bangladesh. Due to the activation of cyclone and turf, a strong system of rain is active. On Monday, there is a red alert of very heavy rain in Ujjain, Shajapur, Rajgarh and Agar-Malwa. There is an orange alert in Indore, Dewas, Mandsaur and Neemuch. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Gwalior, Guna, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Sehore, Sagar, Ashoknagar, Ratlam, Narmadapuram and Vidisha. The period of storm and rain will continue in other districts including Bhopal.

On Sunday, rain and thunderstorms continued in many districts including Indore, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Betul, Dhar, Shivpuri, Damoh, Khajuraho, Niwari, Sagar, Seoni, Umaria. Tikamgarh received the highest rainfall of 262 mm. One and a half inch rain was recorded in Mandla, 1.4 in Narmadapuram, 1 inch in Gwalior, and 45 inches in Bhopal-Raisen. Half an inch rain was recorded in Malajkhand, Ratlam, Pachmarhi of Balaghat.
