Heavy Rainfall Paralyzes Bhopal, Station Road Submerged

Rain wreaked havoc in Bhopal as Station Road was submerged with knee-deep water, causing major disruptions. Residents faced severe inconvenience due to waterlogged streets, potholes, and open chambers posing serious safety risks.

Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is famous for its lakes. But today it is in the headlines due to submerged roads. Station Road, which is one of the busiest roads connecting old and new Bhopal, has turned into a pond after heavy rains. The roads are flooded up to the knees, causing great trouble to the locals, shopkeepers and passengers. Rainwater has entered the shops and many hotels here, causing damage to goods and affecting business.

A petrol pump located on Station Road was also not untouched by this waterlogging, where water has reached the floor. Open chambers and pits at various places on the road have made the situation even more dangerous. Instead of covering these chambers, the administration has fulfilled its responsibility only by putting up barricades, which the local people are questioning.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated on Kargil Vijay Diwas, bowed at the feet of the brave sons of Mother India

People say that the potholes on the roads have not been filled for a long time, and the rain has further exposed their poor condition. “Local residents have demanded from the administration that proper arrangements for road repair and drainage should be made immediately. Also, questions have been raised on the policy of installing barricades instead of covering the open chambers permanently. People say that this temporary solution is not only inconvenient but also invites accidents.
