Highway Robbery on NH-30: Armed Men Loot ₹65,000 and Mobiles from Trader’s Family at Knifepoint

A shocking incident of armed robbery unfolded on National Highway 30, where four masked assailants looted a trader's family at knifepoint.

The victims — 54-year-old businessman Rakesh Agrawal, his nephew Prakash Agrawal (36), and their driver Ramanand Gautam (56) — were returning from Katni when they were ambushed near Jhukehi under the Amadara police station limits around 9 PM on Saturday night.

According to police, the family was traveling back home after a shopping trip in Katni. As their car approached Jhukehi, a masked man approached and began questioning them suspiciously. Within moments, three more men joined him, all armed with knives.

The group threatened the victims and began looting valuables. When Prakash Agrawal resisted, a scuffle broke out, during which he sustained a knife injury to his hand. The attackers managed to snatch ₹8,000 in cash and a mobile phone worth around ₹40,000 from Prakash. Additionally, they looted ₹15,000 from Rakesh and ₹2,000 from the driver before fleeing the scene.

The victims reported the incident to Amadara police on Sunday morning. Taking the matter seriously, law enforcement has launched a search operation to track down the culprits.
