JE Punishes Complainant for CM Helpline Complaint, Video Sparks Outrage
A Junior Engineer forced a complainant to perform sit-ups as punishment for raising an issue through the CM helpline. The incident triggered widespread uproar after a video of the act went viral, prompting demands for strict action.
Satna. Madhya Pradesh government had started CM helpline for quick resolution of complaints of public. But on complaining on this, the complainant himself has to suffer punishment. A case related to this has come to light from Satna where on complaining about electricity connection, JE made the complainant do sit-ups by holding ears. The officer alleges that the youth had filed a fake complaint. As soon as the video of punishing the complainant went viral, uproar broke out in the department.
Complainant was using electricity illegally
Actually, the electricity department team which reached Nimha village to resolve the complaint received on CM helpline found in investigation that the complainant's house does not have connection. He is using electricity illegally. After this, not only this, a case of 135 was registered against him. Rather, he was forced to do sit-ups by holding his ears on the spot.
The complainant had complained about not getting electricity
According to the information, Prince Yadav, who lives in Nimha under the electricity distribution center Kotar, had complained to the CM helpline from his mobile that he was not getting electricity. The department officer assured to resolve the issue and asked him to withdraw the complaint. The youth agreed on the phone, but did not stop the complaint. Due to which the matter reached L2. The youth said that someone else had complained from his mobile.
After that the team went to the spot where the electricity connection number and bill were demanded from the complainant youth. But he did not have anything available. Whereas he was also running a bore and motor pump at home. On finding illegal use of electricity, the electricity workers reprimanded him and after that asked him to do sit-ups five times, that too by holding his ears.
There was a stir in the department. In this case, Kotar's JE RK Tiwari said that "Prince Yadav used electricity illegally without connection. In this case, he has been instructed to get a connection. Also, a case under section 135 of the Electricity Act has been registered." Regarding being made to do sit-ups, he said that "He himself realized his mistake and did sit-ups by holding his ears. We have nothing to do with this." At present, this matter is going viral on social media and all kinds of discussions are going on about the incident.
