Jubin Nautiyal to headline MP Foundation Day celebrations

Madhya Pradesh is set to celebrate its 70th Foundation Day with grandeur at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground from November 1 to 3, under the theme “Abhyuday Madhya Pradesh.” The three-day event will blend music, culture, spirituality, and technology, showcasing the state’s journey from heritage to modern progress.

The celebrations will begin at 6:30 p.m. on November 1, inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in the presence of Union Ministers Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Arjun Ram Meghwal as chief guests.

Opening night highlights: spirituality and music

The event will open with a grand spiritual performance titled “Vishwavand – Shri Krishna ki Sangeetik Yatra,” featuring 500 artists who will present a mesmerizing mix of devotion and art through music and dance.

The highlight of the evening will be India’s largest drone show, presented by the Science and Technology Department, featuring 2,000 synchronized drones depicting the state’s evolution “from heritage to development.” The aerial display will light up the Bhopal sky with visuals of Madhya Pradesh’s cultural and developmental milestones.

The night will conclude with a live performance by Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal, who will enthrall the audience with his popular songs like “Raataan Lambiyan,” “Hum Nawaan Mere,” and “Taron Ke Shehar.”

Day 2: Folk traditions and youth talent

On November 2, the focus will shift to celebrating Madhya Pradesh’s folk culture and youthful energy. Artists from across the state will perform traditional dances and musical acts reflecting tribal heritage and regional diversity.

The venue will also host handicraft fairs, exhibitions, and cultural showcases, highlighting the state’s rich art, craft, and cultural traditions.

Day 3: Tribute to Emperor Vikramaditya

The final day, November 3, will feature a mega theatrical performance titled “Mahanatya Samrat Vikramaditya,” depicting the legendary ruler’s valor and wisdom.
Presented by Ujjain’s Vishala Cultural Committee, the play will involve 150 artists, live chariots, horses, and LED visual effects to recreate the splendor of ancient India.

The event will conclude with a melodious concert by singer Sneha Shankar, known for songs such as “Chand Ke Tukde,” “Mera Mehboob,” and “Hakuna Matata.”

New tourism helicopter service to debut on November 2

Adding a new dimension to the celebration, the state will launch the PM Shri Aerial Tourism Helicopter Service on November 2, with the inaugural flight from Bhopal to Ujjain carrying the Chief Minister and two Union ministers.

Regular operations will begin from November 20, connecting major tourist hubs five days a week under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Tourism Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said the initiative will boost spiritual, heritage, and adventure tourism. Contracts have been signed with Trans Bharat Aviation for Sector 1 and Jet Serve Aviation Pvt. Ltd. for Sectors 2 and 3. Each helicopter will accommodate at least six passengers.

Statewide celebrations

While Bhopal will host the central event, district-level celebrations will take place across Madhya Pradesh, featuring cultural performances, exhibitions, and public gatherings celebrating 70 years of the state’s progress and unity.
