Lathicharge Case on Karni Sena in Harda: Ex-CM Digvijay Singh Shares Video, Demands Judicial Probe

Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has shared a video of the alleged lathicharge on Karni Sena members in Harda, calling the incident serious and demanding a judicial investigation. The video has sparked political uproar, with questions being raised over police action and accountability.

The case of police lathicharge on Karni Sena protesters in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh is gaining momentum. The dispute started with a fraud case, in which Karni Sena accused the police of protecting the accused. During the demonstration outside the City Kotwali police station on Saturday, the police dispersed the crowd using lathicharge, tear gas and water cannon, in which many workers were injured. More than 50 workers, including Karni Sena national president Jeevan Singh Sherpur, were detained, although Sherpur was later released conditionally.

After this incident, political stir has intensified in Madhya Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh shared a video of police action on X and strongly condemned it. He demanded the removal of Harda Collector and SP and a judicial inquiry into the lathicharge. In another viral video, a girl student told that the police entered the Rajput hostel and lathicharged people, making the atmosphere more tense. The protesters have made serious allegations against the police. They claim that the police targeted people by asking their caste and entered the hostel and beat them up.

Digvijay Singh asked the student- what had happened

Former CM Digvijay reached the student's house and talked to her. The student told the former CM that there were many big people talking to the police officer. As soon as they went out after talking, the police lathicharged them. The policemen kept beating them very brutally. They kept hitting a man on his knees and back. Many people did not get a place to enter inside. They were beaten up badly. The police broke the gates of many rooms with their feet.
