Leopard Terror in Omkareshwar: Attacks Cow, Flees After Spotting Biker

A leopard created panic in Omkareshwar by attacking a cow. It fled into the forest upon seeing a biker. The dramatic video has gone viral on social media.

Panic spread due to the sighting of a leopard on the Barwah-Siddhvarkut-Omkareshwar road in Khargone district, 18 km away from the pilgrimage town of Omkareshwar. A leopard suddenly pounced on a cow that came on the road during the day near Kadiya Kund. However, the leopard's attack was not successful because a bike rider came from the front at the same time. Scared by the sound of the bike and human presence, the leopard immediately ran towards the forest.

This entire incident was captured by passersby on their mobile cameras, which is now becoming increasingly viral on social media. It can be clearly seen in the video that the leopard was hiding in the bushes on the roadside and as soon as the cow came close, it attacked. But due to a bike rider coming from the front, it had to return leaving the hunt incomplete.

Dense forest is spread around Omkareshwar. This area is also connected to the Omkareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, where leopards caught from different areas of the state are released. Usually leopards are active at night and hunt in the forest. But this is the first time that such an attack has been seen during the day on a road. The forest department has appealed to people passing through this route to be cautious and not to go near the forest unnecessarily alone or after getting off the vehicle. According to the department, the increase in the number of leopards in the area and their activity near human settlements is becoming a matter of concern.
