Madhya Pradesh Government Schools to Reopen from June 16; Some Private Schools Extend Summer Break
Bhopal, MP
Government schools across Madhya Pradesh are set to reopen from June 16 after the summer break. However, due to the ongoing heatwave, several private institutions have extended their summer vacations, particularly for classes up to Grade 8. Some schools have now scheduled their reopening for June 23.
Despite soaring temperatures in parts of the state, no official directive has been issued by the government to delay the reopening of government schools. District Education Officer (DEO) of Bhopal, Narendra Ahirwar, confirmed that all government schools will reopen on schedule. He added that private schools are free to take independent decisions based on their discretion and infrastructure.
Congress Calls for Delay, Officials Remain Firm
Congress spokesperson Dr. Vinod Sharma has appealed to district collectors via social media to postpone the academic session to July 1 for the safety of children. However, no formal response or change in schedule has been announced by district authorities so far.
