The world-famous Mahakal Bhasma Aarti was performed at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain early Wednesday morning, attracting a large number of devotees from across the country. The spiritual atmosphere inside the temple complex remained filled with devotional chants and traditional rituals during the ceremony. According to temple authorities, the sacred rituals began before dawn with priests opening the temple gates after performing customary prayers and seeking ritual permission as per ancient traditions.

Traditional Rituals Performed

The Mahakal Bhasma Aarti commenced with priests first offering prayers to Veerbhadra Ji before the silver gates of the sanctum were opened. Following this, temple priests removed the previous adornments of Baba Mahakal and carried out ceremonial worship with full Vedic rituals. The rituals included jalabhishek and Panchamrit pujan using milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar, and fruit juices. Temple priests later performed camphor aarti amid continuous chanting of mantras. Officials said the rituals were conducted according to long-established temple traditions observed daily during the sacred Mahakal Bhasma Aarti.

Special Shringar of Mahakal

During the Mahakal Bhasma Aarti, Baba Mahakal was decorated in a grand and divine form using traditional ornaments and sacred offerings. Priests adorned the deity with sandalwood paste, bhang, vermilion, flowers, and silver ornaments. A silver Sheshnag crown, silver mundmala, and Rudraksha garlands were placed on the deity. Fragrant flower garlands further enhanced the spiritual ambience inside the sanctum. Nandi Hall Rituals Conducted
